Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

The summit begins one day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Ukraine is facing “one of the most difficult moments in its history” due to pressure to accept the plan. The leaked details of the plan are viewed as favorable to Moscow.

Zelensky held a phone call on Friday with Sir Keir and with the leaders of France and Germany.

The widely leaked U.S. peace plan includes proposals previously rejected by Kyiv: ceding eastern regions currently under its control, significantly reducing its military strength, and pledging not to join NATO.

Washington is pressuring Kyiv to accept the proposals and earlier this week sent senior Pentagon officials to Ukraine to discuss them.

However, in Europe, there are concerns that Ukraine may be pushed to accept conditions heavily advantageous to Moscow. EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas described the possibility as “a very dangerous moment.”

Before G20 discussions on Ukraine, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir said leaders “will review the current proposal and explore how we can strengthen this plan for the next stage of negotiations in support of President Trump’s peace efforts.”

Speaking on Friday, Trump warned that Ukraine will “soon” lose more territory to Russia and that Zelensky will be “forced” to approve the plan.

Trump said he had given Ukraine until Thursday to approve the plan, calling this an “appropriate” deadline.

Neither U.S. President Donald Trump nor Russian President Vladimir Putin is attending the G20.
