U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio lands in Israel
Stockholm, September 14 (Hibya) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio landed in Israel on Sunday morning amid tensions following Israel’s unilateral attack on Doha last week.
Later in the day, Rubio will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
Rubio shared a photo on his X account showing him being greeted by reporters before departing for Jerusalem.
In his post, Rubio wrote: “My focus will be on securing the return of the hostages, finding ways to ensure humanitarian aid reaches civilians, and confronting the threat posed by Hamas.”
The U.S. Secretary of State added: “If peace is the goal in the region, Hamas cannot be allowed to continue to exist.”
