Volker Türk: Many victims are being ignored and their voices are not heard
New York, 18 November (Hibya) – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk stated that during times of conflict, children, especially girls, are at extremely high risk of sexual violence and exploitation.
Türk emphasized that children, particularly girls, face extreme risks of sexual violence and exploitation during conflicts.
Noting that many victims are ignored and their voices go unheard, Türk said: “We must do more and act urgently to protect every child, deliver justice for victims, and support their recovery.”
