WHO calls for Gaza: Medical evacuations must be increased, more countries should support
Geneva, August 23 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus thanked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its support in the medical evacuation of critically ill patients from Gaza.
WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its assistance in evacuating critical patients from Gaza.
He emphasized that more than 15,600 patients in the region still require specialized treatment, including 3,800 children.
In his statement, Dr. Ghebreyesus stressed the need to facilitate access in order to increase medical evacuations from Gaza and called on more countries to support the provision of life-saving health services.
