Zakharova stated that Russia is convinced there is no alternative to fulfilling the objectives of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine.

She listed the goals of the operation as follows:

“Ensuring Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned, and non-nuclear status,

Demilitarization and ‘denazification’ of the country,

Guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of the Russian-speaking population,

Allowing the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to operate freely without hindrance.”

Zakharova emphasized that achieving lasting peace requires addressing the root causes of the conflict, adding: “We need a stable negotiated solution within the framework of building an indivisible security system in Eurasia and on a global scale.”
