President Zelensky stated: “The day when courage triumphed over fear. The landing was one of the most significant Allied operations of World War II. It paved the way for restoring freedom in Europe.”

He added that they honor all those who risked everything to repel evil and fought to overcome oppression:

“Their courage laid the foundations for transatlantic unity that has lasted for generations. We are deeply grateful to all who once stood against Nazism and today do not allow hatred to prevail. Today, once again, courage must triumph over fear, and freedom over tyranny.”
