Zelensky: Steps will be taken to reinforce units in Donetsk region
Kyiv, August 10 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Zelensky said they had assessed the situation on the front with military officials, adding that new steps were being considered to strengthen critical sectors, particularly in the Donetsk region, and increase air defense capacity.
Ukrainian President Zelensky said in a statement that they had discussed important military issues and reviewed proposals regarding personnel changes.
Zelensky said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi had presented a vision for the changes in coordination with Ihor Skybiuk and Yevhenii Khmara. He noted that some decisions were being prepared and that new decisions would also be taken.
Zelensky said they had assessed the situation on the front in detail, noting that measures to reinforce critical sectors, particularly in the Donetsk region, had been discussed.
Zelensky said air defense was also one of the key topics of the meeting, stressing the need to protect cities in frontline and border regions, regional centers and the capital Kyiv from Russian attacks.
Zelensky said securing the necessary support to strengthen Ukraine's military capacity was among the priorities of the diplomatic team, adding that air defense should rank high on the agenda of all countries capable of providing support to Ukraine.
