20 killed in Israeli strikes on restaurant and market in Gaza
Stockholm, May 7 (Hibya) – Palestinian health officials said at least 20 Palestinians were killed in two Israeli strikes on a crowded restaurant and market on the same street in Gaza City.
Shocking videos shared on social media show bodies piled on tables in the Thailandy restaurant in the northern Rimal neighborhood, which had recently operated as a community kitchen.
Footage from the market about 60 meters away shows a small child with a backpack lying dead in the street.
The Israeli military said it is reviewing the reports.
Earlier, local hospitals reported that at least 59 people had been killed since Tuesday night, most of them in two schools that had served as shelters for displaced families.
