Al Kaabi: Qatar is a key supporter of the UN Human Rights High Commissioner’s Office
Geneva, March 27 (Hibya) - The State of Qatar reiterated its support for the activities of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement at the 61st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva regarding the country’s cooperation with international human rights mechanisms.
Speaking during the general debate on technical assistance and capacity-building, Nour Hamad Al Kaabi, Third Political Researcher at the Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment in this field.
Al Kaabi emphasized that technical assistance and capacity-building are an integral part of the mandates of both the Human Rights Council and the OHCHR, and that they help states fulfill their human rights obligations.
