Albares: Hezbollah and Israel must stop attacks
Madrid, April 1 (Hibya) - Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, stated regarding the conflicts in the Middle East that seeking security by force leads to chaos, calling for respect for Lebanon’s territorial integrity and the implementation of a two-state solution.
Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares evaluated Spain’s diplomatic stance on regional security and the protection of international law.
Highlighting the inadequacy of military methods in resolving conflicts, Albares said: “At this point in the 21st century, we know that seeking security and borders by force leads to chaos. Democracy and stability are not built with bombs. Many of us understand that cooperation is always stronger than conflict.”
Criticizing the situation in Lebanon and Palestine, Minister Albares said: “Lebanon’s integrity is being violated, its population is being displaced, and our peace efforts are being obstructed. Hezbollah and Israel must stop the attacks and comply with and respect Resolution 1701.”
Referring to Iran’s role and the path to lasting peace, Albares stated: “Iran, by attacking neighboring countries without justification, fuels instability in the region and beyond. Palestine cannot be forgotten. The two-state solution — Israel and Palestine — must be implemented. Regional peace can only be achieved through mutual recognition.”
