Aliyev: More than 1000 NGO representatives and activists from 140 countries gathered
Baku, April 28 (Hibya) – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated in his speech to the participants of the Founding Conference of the Global South Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Platform that today marks a historic turning point for the Global South.
Aliyev emphasized that the establishment of the Global South CSO Platform by bringing together more than 100 leading civil society representatives is extremely important for global cooperation.
President Aliyev recalled that this initiative, launched last November in Baku at the International South-South Cooperation Conference organized by the CSOs of Non-Aligned Movement member states within the framework of COP29, has received great support, saying: "More than 1000 NGO representatives and activists from nearly 140 countries signed the joint declaration, thus strengthening this initiative."
