According to a statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

The statement on the phone call said:

"At the beginning of the call, the Saudi Foreign Minister expressed his sorrow over the tragic fire at Iran’s Shahid Rajaei Port, conveying Saudi Arabia’s condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the Iranian government and people. He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked the Saudi officials for their messages of condolence. Araghchi also briefed his Saudi counterpart on the latest developments in the indirect Iran-US negotiations."
