Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that German Chancellor Merz continues to insist on supporting the crimes and rebellious behavior of the Israeli regime.

Baghaei emphasized that Merz is a jurist and knows very well that an Israeli military attack on Iran would constitute a clear violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter, and that this amounts to a serious crime.

Baghaei said: “Approving injustice is equivalent to being complicit in the crime. The German Chancellor’s persistent and ongoing support for the Zionist regime’s military aggression against Iran and the war crimes committed during these attacks creates international legal responsibility for the Federal Republic of Germany for aiding and abetting these illegal and criminal acts. The German government must be held accountable.”
