Lazzarini: 800 hungry people shot and killed in Gaza while trying to get food
New York, July 11 (Hibya) – The Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, made a statement regarding Gaza.
Philippe Lazzarini stated that 800 hungry people were shot and killed in Gaza while trying to get some food.
"During the ceasefire, the UN provided extensive and dignified aid. The deepening hunger trend was reversed. Today, at best, there are only 4 and very remote distribution points; during the period when the UN was in charge, this number was 400. During the ceasefire, 500–600 aid trucks entered Gaza daily — carrying food, fuel, medicine, and hygiene kits. Now, only very small amounts of dry food are being sent, leading to widespread malnutrition among children," Lazzarini said.
