Fletcher: Conflict in Sudan pushing children into hunger
New York, July 11 (Hibya) – UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher announced that the conflict in Sudan is driving children into hunger.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher stated that the conflict in Sudan is worsening hunger among children.
“The deadliest form of malnutrition is rapidly increasing in different regions of the country. In North Darfur, the number of severely malnourished children has doubled. Life-saving aid must reach them before it’s too late. We need access and funding now,” Fletcher said.
