Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced that he spoke at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization in New York on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Bayramov said they welcomed Pakistan assuming the chairmanship of the Economic Cooperation Organization for the 2026-2027 period and supported the transfer of the title of 2027 ECO Tourism Capital from Shusha to Lahore.

Bayramov said they were focused on creating a “corridor of corridors” across the region, adding that supply chains should be modernized, customs procedures harmonized and the green transition supported. Bayramov also provided information on developments in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and post-war rehabilitation efforts in the liberated territories.
