Belgian Foreign Minister Prevot congratulates Nobel Physics laureate Halzen
Brussels, October 6 (Hibya) - Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot congratulated Belgian physicist Francis Halzen on winning the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics. Prevot highlighted Halzen's work on neutrinos and the IceCube Observatory.
Belgian Foreign Minister Prevot issued a congratulatory message after Belgian physicist Francis Halzen was awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics.
In a post on his social media account, Prevot congratulated Halzen on his work on neutrinos and the IceCube Observatory.
Prevot said IceCube, located deep beneath the Antarctic ice, brings together scientists from different parts of the world and described the work as an important scientific achievement demonstrating what international cooperation can accomplish.
Recalling that Belgium was one of the original signatories of the Antarctic Treaty, Prevot said his country has long supported preserving Antarctica as a space for peace, science and international cooperation.
Prevot said Belgium was proud that Halzen had been honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics.
