Budrys: China's trade and industrial policies aim for dominance
Vilnius, July 14 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys stated that China's trade and industrial policies aim to achieve global technological dominance.
Foreign Minister Budrys said that China's trade and industrial strategies are designed to assert technological dominance on a global scale.
He noted that the spread of authoritarian influence is also inevitable, saying, “This is a serious problem for the EU and must be addressed with determination.”
“Unfair trade practices, overproduction, large subsidies that fuel this overproduction, and China’s closed domestic market — this is the economic reality we face today. The EU must fully use the tools at its disposal to respond effectively to these challenges,” Budrys stated.
He emphasized that no member state should be left to face China alone: “The European Commission must respond decisively to defend the interests of every EU state, especially when facing unfair practices.”
