Budrys: Detention of Yuki Imai is a serious attack on press freedom
Vilnius, October 21 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys described Russia's detention of Japanese journalist Yuki Imai as a serious attack on press freedom and called for the journalist's immediate release.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys issued a statement regarding the detention of Japanese journalist Yuki Imai by Russia.
Describing the journalist's detention as a serious attack on press freedom, Budrys said, "Russia's detention of Japanese journalist Yuki Imai is a deeply concerning attack on press freedom."
Expressing support for Japan's call for the journalist's release, Budrys emphasized that Imai must be released immediately and treated fairly.
Budrys stated, "Press freedom is sacred. Any attempt to intimidate or silence independent journalism is unacceptable."
