Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys assessed Ukraine's accession process as part of the European Union's enlargement agenda. Budrys said EU enlargement, with Ukraine at its center, represents a strategic investment in Europe's security.

Budrys said he met with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos on the sidelines of the EU Foreign Ministers' Meeting, where they discussed Ukraine's progress toward membership.

Budrys said, "Despite Russia's war, Ukraine continues to implement reforms. We must maintain momentum, open the remaining negotiating chapters and ensure that EU membership remains an achievable goal."

Emphasizing that the accession process should not be obstructed by bilateral disputes, Budrys stated, "The path to membership should be determined by merit rather than blocked by bilateral disagreements. Enlargement makes Europe stronger, more resilient and more secure."
