According to a statement from the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova met with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in Brussels.

The two discussed the implementation of Corridor 8, transportation, energy connectivity, and defense cooperation.

Minister Tajani congratulated his Bulgarian counterpart on her appointment to office.

The topics of discussion also included cooperation between the two countries within the EU to increase the competitiveness of European economies and preserving the financing and role of the Common Agricultural Policy and Cohesion Policy in the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework for the 2028–2034 period.
