Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with opposition leaders as part of his country’s response to the “unfair tariffs” imposed by the United States (US).

Carney said they discussed new measures aimed at supporting Canadian workers, families and businesses during the meeting.

Stating that strengthening the Canadian economy and protecting employment are priorities, Carney said the necessary steps would be taken to ensure that his country is never economically dependent on a single country.

Carney said, “We’re focused on the fundamentals: protecting Canadian jobs, strengthening our economy, and taking action to ensure Canada is never dependent on a single country.”
