Canadian Foreign Minister Anand met with NATO Secretary General Rutte
Brussels, May 11 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss steps aimed at strengthening security in the Arctic region and reiterated Canada’s commitment to the alliance.
Anand held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Rutte.
In a statement made in French, Anand stated that the next steps NATO would take to strengthen security in the Arctic region were discussed during the meeting. The strategic importance of the region was emphasized, along with issues related to increasing defense and security cooperation.
Recalling that Canada is one of NATO’s founding members, Anand emphasized that her country’s commitment to the alliance and collective security remains strong.
