Carney: Canada’s electricity grid capacity will be doubled by 2050
Ottawa, August 17 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said electricity demand in the country is expected to double by 2050 and announced that the capacity of the electricity grid will also be doubled.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said electricity demand in the country is expected to double by 2050.
Carney said in a statement, “Electricity demand in Canada is expected to double by 2050. That means we need to double the capacity of our grid.”
Noting that work is continuing under the new National Electrification Strategy, Carney said, “We are doing this to power a strong Canada with clean, affordable and reliable electricity.”
