Carney reacts to arson attack on MP Zahid's vehicle
Ottawa, August 27 (Hibya) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney reacted to the arson attack on MP Salma Zahid's vehicle, which was parked outside her home in Toronto. Carney described the incident as an act of violence and intimidation and called for those responsible to be brought to justice.
Carney said in a statement, “This is a cowardly act of violence and intimidation. It is unacceptable. It does not reflect who we are as Canadians.”
Carney said he was relieved that Zahid and her family were safe and expressed his full support for the Toronto Police Service in finding those responsible.
Carney said, “Toronto Police have my full support in their efforts to find the perpetrator or perpetrators of this act and ensure they face the full legal consequences of their crimes.”
