Cassis: It is in our interest that this region is safe and stable
Yamoussoukro, March 26 (Hibya) - Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, during his official visit to Côte d’Ivoire, discussed economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, as well as the security situation in the Sahel region and Switzerland’s initiatives.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis held high-level meetings with Tiemoko Meyliet Kone and Minister Niale Kaba as part of his West Africa engagements.
Stating that they are focused on strengthening ties between the two countries, Cassis said: "In Côte d’Ivoire, I met with Vice President Tiemoko Meyliet Kone and Minister Niale Kaba to evaluate our strong bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, scientific and cultural fields."
Cassis added: "We also discussed the security situation in the Sahel. Switzerland is carrying out various development and peacebuilding initiatives and programs in the region. It is in our interest that this region is safe and stable."
