Cassis: La Francophonie must become a space of trust and solidarity
Bern, November 20 (Hibya) – Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, in his speech at the Francophonie Ministerial Conference (OIF) held in Kigali, highlighted the global challenges facing the Francophonie.
Cassis stated that the world is becoming increasingly polarized and that an atmosphere of mistrust is growing. Under these circumstances, he emphasized that the Francophonie must become a space of trust and cooperation. He pointed to the importance of a structure that promotes linguistic diversity and highlights solidarity, stressing that the organization must preserve its effectiveness and its ability to be useful.
The Swiss minister added that the Francophonie is not only a cultural network but also an important platform capable of playing a constructive role in international relations.
