CENTCOM: We have launched a series of powerful strikes against Iran
Washington, July 8 (Hibya) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has launched military operations against Iran in response to Tehran's attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM announced the launch of military strikes against Iran.
In a statement, CENTCOM said: "We have begun a series of powerful strikes against Iran to impose severe costs for its targeting and attacks on commercial vessels carrying innocent civilian crews in an international waterway."
The statement said the operations were carried out in response to Iran's attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM described Iran's actions as "unprovoked, dangerous, and a clear violation of the ceasefire," adding: "The U.S. strikes are being conducted in response to Iran's attacks on commercial vessels."
