China: Claims of "squeezing the Global South" are groundless
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said allegations that China is "squeezing" the development space of Global South countries during their industrialization process are completely unfounded.
In recent days, some foreign media outlets claimed that China's manufacturing capacity is not only affecting Western countries but is also narrowing the development opportunities available to Global South countries during their industrialization process.
Speaking at today's regular press briefing, Mao Ning stressed that these allegations are inconsistent with the facts and that Global South countries themselves do not accept such claims.
Mao noted that China, as a member of the Global South, is always ready to share its development experience and, through efficient infrastructure, investment, and technical cooperation, helps strengthen the self-sustaining development capabilities of other Global South countries.
Mao Ning added that China will continue to create new opportunities for the world through its own development and remain committed to achieving shared prosperity.
