Chinese FM Wang holds phone call with Egyptian counterpart Abdelatty
Beijing, March 26 (Hibya) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called on the international community for dialogue to halt escalating tensions in the Middle East.
According to CCTV, during the phone call held at the request of the Egyptian side, it was warned that targeting energy and electricity facilities could lead to irreversible chaos across the region.
Wang emphasized that both China and Egypt firmly oppose military operations without authorization from the UN Security Council and attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Noting that Egypt and China are comprehensive strategic partners, Abdelatty stated that Egypt is willing to maintain close coordination with China and jointly intensify diplomatic efforts to prevent further instability.
Wang stated that both China and Egypt are responsible countries that oppose military operations without UN Security Council authorization and do not support the spread of the conflict to Gulf countries.
He stressed that the continuation of this war would only lead to more loss of life and unnecessary damage and would further worsen the situation.
