Costa: Azerbaijan is a key partner for the EU
Baku, March 11 (Hibya) – European Council President Antonio Costa stated that he will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku and emphasized the determination to deepen cooperation in strategic areas such as security, energy and transport.
European Council President Antonio Costa made a statement during his visit to Baku aimed at strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU).
Assessing the purpose of his visit and the dialogue between the two sides, Costa said: “Today I am in Baku and I look forward to meeting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan is a key partner for the EU. Over the past year we have revitalized our relationship.”
Listing the technical and strategic areas of cooperation, Costa said: “We are determined to further deepen our relations in the fields of security, energy, digitalization and transport.”
Antonio Costa also indicated that regional and global dynamics will be on the agenda, stating: “In light of the rapidly changing geopolitical situation, we will also discuss the latest developments.”
