Costa: The accession of Austria, Finland and Sweden has made Europe stronger
Brussels, 17 November (Hibya) – President of the European Union Council Antonio Costa issued a statement marking the 30th anniversary of Austria, Finland and Sweden’s accession to the EU.
Costa stated that the accession of these three countries enriched the Union and contributed to shaping today’s strong and united Europe.
He emphasized that the accession processes of Austria, Finland and Sweden once again demonstrated that enlargement is “the best geostrategic investment” to strengthen the EU’s prosperity, cohesion and global influence.
