Costa: We support Armenia's ambitious reform agenda
Brussels, July 14 (Hibya) – President of the EU Council Antonio Costa stated that the EU strongly supports Armenia's ambitious reform agenda.
Costa announced that he held a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to reaffirm the growing partnership between the EU and Armenia.
He emphasized: “We strongly support Armenia's reform agenda. We appreciate Armenia’s efforts to ensure stability in the South Caucasus, particularly its continued peace talks with Azerbaijan and steps toward normalizing relations with Turkey.”
Costa noted that the recently agreed EU-Armenia Partnership Agenda marks a new era in their relations and strengthens regional and economic ties: “We look forward to Armenia hosting the European Political Community summit in 2026!”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen commented: “It’s great to see you again in Brussels, Pashinyan. You have shown Armenia’s deep commitment to peace and stability. As our ties grow stronger than ever, the EU’s Resilience and Growth Plan is a strategic investment in Armenia’s future.”
