Czech PM Fiala to meet British counterpart Starmer
Prague, July 14 (Hibya) – Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced he had flown to London to hold a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street.
PM Fiala said he had flown to London to meet with PM Starmer at Downing Street.
He emphasized that the United Kingdom is an important trade partner for them and that mutual trade reached nearly 14 billion euros last year. “Our exports increased by over 23%. Dozens of Czech companies export to and invest in the country. I want to further strengthen their positions and support new opportunities,” Fiala said.
Fiala stated that one of the topics would be nuclear energy: “The cooperation agreement signed last year between CEZ and Rolls-Royce SMR to develop small modular reactors is a significant step. We will discuss expanding the agreement. Our goal is for the Czech Republic to become as energy self-sufficient as possible in the future and to ensure that Czechs have access to sufficient and affordable energy.”
