Diaz-Canel: Cuba will not be a colony of any empire
Havana, September 8 (Hibya) - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said his country will defend its independence, sovereignty and right to self-determination.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez made statements regarding his country's history and independence.
Stating that Cuba had been under the colonial and neocolonial rule of two empires, Diaz-Canel said, “Cuba knows very well what it means to be a colony and a neocolony of two empires. We are clear that we will never again be a colony of either of them.”
Diaz-Canel said the price of independence, sovereignty and the right to self-determination had been set by the blood that was shed, adding that they would defend these values “to the very end.”
