Duda: The falsification of history must never be allowed
Warsaw, July 14 (Hibya) – Polish President Andrzej Duda said he was outraged by the news of the "Our Boys" exhibition at the Gdańsk Museum.
President Duda stated that falsifying history must never be permitted.
He expressed anger over the exhibition "Our Boys" at the Gdańsk Museum: "Presenting Third Reich (Nazi Germany) soldiers as 'ours' is not only a historical distortion but also a moral provocation — even if the photos depict young Polish men forcibly conscripted into Hitler’s army."
Duda emphasized that the Polish people, as a nation, were victims of German 'occupation' and 'terror': "They were neither perpetrators nor accomplices. Gdańsk, where World War II began, cannot host narratives that blur the responsibility of the criminals."
"Such actions undermine the foundations of our national identity and disrespect the victims. As the President of the Republic of Poland, I strongly oppose this. Anyone who relativizes crimes disarms the conscience of the nation."
