Dutch Prime Minister Jetten visits shelter in Haarlem
Amsterdam, May 20 (Hibya) - Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten met with residents and visited a shelter facility in Haarlem.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten visited a shelter facility located in Haarlem.
As part of the visit, meetings were held with local residents, COA employees, and Mayor Jos Wienen.
Jetten stated that shelters affect neighborhoods, saying: "This afternoon I visited a shelter facility in Haarlem. I also spoke with people from the neighborhood, COA employees, and Mayor Jos Wienen. The resilience of the neighborhood and the attention given by the municipality and COA are admirable. Different neighbors are voluntarily taking an active role in the shelter, and during the opening, local residents brought items and food for the people being housed. At the same time, there are also neighbors who are critical of the presence of a shelter facility. During this afternoon’s conversation, both voices were heard. And that is a good thing, because we may not always convince each other, but we must continue the dialogue."
