Before the meeting scheduled this week between the US and Russia, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Schoof said he welcomed US President Trump’s initiative and added: “President Zelensky and I agree that no decisions about Ukraine should be made without Ukraine. I assured him that we will continue to support Ukraine on the path to a lasting and just peace, and beyond.”

Schoof emphasized that Ukraine’s daily struggle against Russian aggression is also about the freedom and security of Europe, and therefore of the Netherlands.
