EU provides additional aid to earthquake victims in Afghanistan
Brussels, September 8 (Hibya) – The European Union (EU) continues to support communities affected by the earthquakes that struck Afghanistan last week.
According to EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, in addition to the emergency humanitarian funds and EU humanitarian flights to Afghanistan, an extra €500,000 will be provided to the Disaster Response Emergency Fund (DREF) of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
This assistance will be delivered to the most vulnerable people through the Afghan Red Crescent (ARCS).
