EU provides an additional 1 million euros for the crisis in Sudan
Brussels, November 11 (Hibya) – The EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, made a statement regarding the humanitarian situation in Sudan.
Commissioner Lahbib announced that the European Union is increasing its emergency aid to support civilians fleeing massacres in the Darfur region.
In a post on social media, Lahbib said: “Sudan is bleeding, but the European Union will not remain silent. We are increasing our emergency intervention in North Darfur by 1 million euros. These funds will be used to support people fleeing the massacres carried out by the RSF.”
Since April 2023, clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan have killed tens of thousands and displaced millions of people.
