EU supports firefighting efforts in Montenegro
Brussels, August 12 (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, announced that helicopters and planes have been deployed to support firefighting efforts in Montenegro.
Commissioner Lahbib noted that the fires in Montenegro are spreading rapidly due to strong winds.
She emphasized that one helicopter from Serbia and planes from Croatia and Italy have been deployed to Montenegro through the Civil Protection Mechanism, adding: “As the threat of wildfires looms over Europe, we are ready to intervene wherever needed.”
