Ghebreyesus: Clean air should not be a luxury
Geneva, September 7 (Hibya) - World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that clean air is not a luxury but a right.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stressed that clean air should not be a luxury, saying: “It is a right. Where you live should not determine your health. But right now, it does.”
On World Clean Air Day, Ghebreyesus stated that WHO is calling on leaders to take action and end this injustice, adding: “Reducing air pollution helps prevent heart disease, asthma, and lung cancer, saving millions of lives.”
