Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared a statement regarding the two “national marine parks” declared by Türkiye in the Northeastern Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.

In the statement, the ministry claimed that the marine parks in question extend beyond Turkish territorial waters and into areas that Greece describes as its continental shelf, arguing that the practice is contrary to international law.

The statement said that no state has the right to unilaterally declare marine protected areas outside its national jurisdiction, adding that Türkiye's steps in this direction would have no legal effect on Greece's rights arising from international law.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Türkiye's unilateral declaration of national marine parks outside its own jurisdiction cannot create a fait accompli, arguing that such steps undermine international law and good-neighborly relations.
