Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian Shahin bid farewell to France's Consul General in Jerusalem, Nicolas Cassianides, during an official ceremony marking the end of his mission.

According to a statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shahin expressed appreciation for Cassianides' work throughout his assignment in Palestine.

Minister Shahin particularly praised the ambassador's support for Jerusalem and the holy sites.

She also welcomed France's recognition of the State of Palestine and its position in support of the Palestinian cause.

Cassianides, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the level of relations between Palestine and France, emphasizing that his country's support for Palestine and efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people would continue.

The ceremony was also attended by Director of the Europe Department and First Counsellor Ghada Arafat, as well as Head of the Protocol Unit and First Secretary Razan Lftaoui.

The meeting also addressed the implementation of the New York Declaration, support for Gaza, and the organization of future high-level visits to continue political consultations between the two countries.
