Iran Red Crescent: More than 80,000 civilian sites targeted
Tehran, March 22 (Hibya) - Head of the Iran Red Crescent, Pirhossein Kolivand, announced that more than 80,000 civilian sites across the country were directly targeted as a result of attacks by the US and Israel.
According to CCTV, Kolivand emphasized that international humanitarian law was severely violated during the attacks.
According to official data, more than 20,000 of the targeted units are located in Tehran, while more than 60,000 are in other regions. It was reported that 18,790 commercial units, 266 health centers and 498 schools were damaged, and 12 healthcare workers lost their lives.
The Iran Red Crescent stated that hundreds of civilians, including children and 231 women, were killed, while independent media reports suggested that the total death toll exceeded 1,500.
Speaking to foreign media, Kolivand called on the international community to protect humanitarian corridors and healthcare facilities.
