An IDF spokesperson announced that, following instructions from the political authority, a precise and coordinated preemptive strike based on high-quality intelligence had been launched to target Iran’s nuclear program and respond to the Iranian regime’s ongoing aggression toward Israel.

Dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft recently completed the opening phase of the assault. The strike hit dozens of sites, including military and nuclear targets across various regions of Iran.

The IDF statement included the following:

"The Iranian regime has explicitly declared the destruction of the State of Israel as an open objective. Regime officials openly express this and work to achieve it through proxy forces across the Middle East. Iran is now closer than ever to obtaining nuclear weapons. The possession of such a weapon of mass destruction by the Iranian regime poses a threat to Israel’s existence and a serious danger to the entire world. Israel will never allow a regime that seeks its destruction to possess a weapon of mass destruction."
