Jerusalem, August 22 (Hibya) - The Israeli Foreign Ministry commemorated those who were persecuted and lost their lives because of their beliefs in a statement marking the International Day of Victims of Violence Based on Religion or Belief.

The ministry’s statement said that Jews have faced persecution, exile and killing for centuries solely because of their identity and beliefs. It stated that the meaning of living in fear because of religious belief is understood.
The statement emphasized solidarity with Christians, Druze, Yazidis and other communities currently facing persecution in the region.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated that it supports these communities’ right to live freely and practice their faith, expressing that it stands with all people persecuted because of their beliefs.
