Israeli military: Counterterrorism operation continues in Judea
Tel Aviv, October 28 (Hibya) - The Israeli military reported that six people were detained during operations in Hebron and that weapons and equipment, including an M16 rifle, were seized.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that operations aimed at preventing terrorist activities were continuing in the West Bank city of Hebron. The statement said the operations were launched following a clash over the weekend in which Israeli soldiers Ron Yonatan Roitman and Yuval Shay Suilam were killed and three other soldiers sustained minor injuries.
Various items, including an M16 rifle, knives, a vest and a toy gun, were reportedly seized during searches.
According to the statement, special units of the Israeli Border Police, supported by intelligence from the Israel Security Agency, carried out simultaneous operations in several villages within the area of responsibility of the Judea Brigade. Six people, including Hamas members, were detained on suspicion of participating in terrorist activities, planning attacks or supporting such activities.
The Israeli military said operations would continue throughout the West Bank.
