Jetten meets with his British counterpart Starmer
Helsinki, March 26 (Hibya) - Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten met with his British counterpart Keir Starmer as part of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) Leaders' Summit.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten held a bilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the JEF Leaders' Summit in Helsinki.
Referring to the agenda of the meeting, Jetten said: "We discussed recent developments in the Middle East, the importance of a strong European pillar within NATO, and the need to ensure continued support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia."
Prime Minister Jetten stated that concrete steps to counter Russia’s efforts to bypass sanctions via maritime routes were also discussed, saying: "In this context, we also evaluated additional measures to combat the vessels forming Russia’s shadow fleet, which bypass sanctions by sailing under false flags."
Jetten expressed that they aim to hold more detailed discussions with Prime Minister Starmer in the near future.
