Iran’s religious leader Khamenei noted that this year Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz coincide and congratulated Iranians on these religious and national holidays.

Khamenei congratulated Islamic fighters on their achievements and expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs.

Khamenei stated that in the 2025 war, the enemy expected a quick victory, but these plans failed due to the people’s resistance and the fighters’ sacrifices. He said: “In the third imposed war, by targeting high-ranking figures of the system and some influential military personnel, it was attempted to create fear and despair among the people and thus establish control over Iran and divide the country. You, the people, by combining fasting with jihad, created a wide defense line across the country and numerous strong positions, delivering a surprising blow to the enemy, which led it to make contradictory and meaningless statements.”

Khamenei announced the slogan for 2026 as “Resistance economy under the shadow of national unity and security”.

Emphasizing that the attacks in Türkiye and Oman were not carried out by Iran, Khamenei said: “This is a false flag method used by the Zionist enemy to create division among neighbors and can also be seen in other countries.”

Calling for improved relations with Afghanistan and Pakistan, Khamenei said: “I ask Afghanistan and Pakistan, for the sake of God and to prevent division among Muslims, to develop their relations, and I am ready to do my part in this regard.”

Khamenei wished the Iranian people success and prosperity in the new year.
